Highlights from Performance One in Pendleton

The stars were out in Pendleton yesterday for the first performance of the Pendleton Round-Up. Here are the highlights from the first day.

In Bareback Riding Chad Rutherford and Spur Lacasse tied for the top score with 84 point rides. Rutherford’s came on a reride.

In Steer Wrestling Newt Novich was the fastest of the day with a 4.7-second run. Tristain Martin currently is leading the average with a time of 11.3 seconds on two head.

Team Roping was highlighted by Coleman Proctor and Logan Medlin who went 4.7 seconds. Cory Kidd V and Ryan Motes lead on average with 9.8 seconds on two head.

In Saddle Bronc Riding Tegan Smith posted the top score of 89 points. The ride could turn out to be a big one for Smith as he currently sits in 16th place in the world standings. After his run he spoke with Janie Johnson on the importance of the ride.

Shane Hanchey proved why he is the number one Tie-Down Roper in the world with a 9.6-second run, the fastest of the day.

In Barrel Racing it was Amanda Welsh who was the fastest. Welsh went 28.82 seconds which puts her in fourth place overall.

Finally, in Bull Riding, Boudreaux Campbell went 88.5 points to post the top score of the day.
