California Rodeo Salinas is kicking off and we’re taking a look back at the 2021 Champions.
Richmond Champion made an 87-point ride on Bridwell Pro Rodeo’s Mary to take home the win in the bareback riding. Champion unfortunately is unable to defend his title for 2022 due to injury.
The saddle bronc riding was dominated by Layton Green on Bridwell Pro Rodeo’s iconic Indian Burn, turning in a score of 91-points. Green is currently No. 6 in the World Standings and will be returning as the Reigning Champion to fight for a second consecutive win.
Four-time NFR Qualifier Riley Duvall stopped the clock at 5.6-seconds to take home the 2022 Championship Title in Salinas and is currently sitting right outside of the Top-15 for the World Standings.
World Champion Marcos Costa tied-down his final calf in 11.2-seconds making the fastest run and taking home a big win.
Colby Lovell and Paul Eaves made a run of 11.6-seconds to take home the Championship Title shortly after winning a World Title at the 2020 National Finals Rodeo.
Nellie Miller made the fastest run with a 16.15 to win the barrel racing on her equine partner and former Horse of The Year Sister.
Shelby Boisjoli roped one in 3.8-seconds to earn the title of Salinas Breakaway Roping Champion.
The bull riding was won by three-time NFR Qualifier Clayton Sellars with an 86.5-point ride on Corey and Lange Rodeo’s Shaved Ice.
The 2022 California Rodeo Salinas takes place July 21 - 24th.
