It was an epic finish in Team Roping on both the header and heeler side of things. Paul Eaves and Colby Lovell won the final three rounds to steal away a Gold Buckle for each.

In Round 10, Lovell and Eaves went last and knew exactly what they had to do. Their only option was to win the round and that is exactly what they did with a Gold Buckle clinching 4.4-second run.

“Just let our reactions take over and do what we knew what to do,” Eaves said. “It was crucial, we had to do it......We had to win the round to win the world and it was everything, and we knew coming into it that it would be that way.”

Lovell and Eaves’ late charge pushed Eaves about $3,000 ahead of Paden Bray, who won the average. Eaves finished with $178,485 and Bray finished with $175,503.

“My little girl was able to watch me win my first one, my little boy now can watch me win this one,” Eaves said. “It’s a personal thing, satisfaction, to do that (win two Gold Buckles)......Everyone forgets about it the next year but for yourself on the inside, it’s an awesome stage to be on.”

Joseph Harrison, who entered the Wrangler NFR in first, finished third in the world with $168,016.
