Andrew Ward and Kollin VonAhn rolled into Sioux Falls after a regular season full of success. Their performance at the Cinch Playoffs Governor’s Cup would surpass expections when they cinched the win after a wicked run in the Final Four.
A 3.9 in the Final Four was the lucky number for Ward and VonAhn. When the dust settled, VonAhn found himself well inside the Top 15 in the World and after nine years, he is returning to the Thomas and Mack.
“It was kind of a lucky shot and that’s kind of the way this week has been for me and I’ve been lucky so I just went with it,” VonAhn said.
On the heading side of things, Ward does his best to keep pressure off but it was on this week as they knew a win was needed to get VonAhn to Las Vegas.
“It’s hard to keep the outside noise away but we knew we needed a win and it’s just a great blessing to do it, we’re so favored,” Ward said.
