Antwon Burton Fills Us In On The PBR Team Series Combine

Former NFL Player, Antwon Burton, is now the Executive Director of the PBR Sports Performance Center in Pueblo, Colorado.

The PBR kicked off its first ever combine last week, which held about 59 bull riders, who went through many different tests and assessments.

Burton raves about some of the impressive talent that was shown throughout the week and specific athletic ability that was observed. Not only was physical strength a focus at the combine, but mental health as well. He says, “The mental aspect of getting on a bull week in and week out is definitely something different than putting a ball into a hoop ... like I said we’re going into new territory.”

Not only was this week beneficial for the riders, but for the coaches of all eight PBR Teams as well. “We treated this like a legit combine, we had coaches meetings, we had film review, and after every session the coaches would get together and see how we compare and contrast and evaluate riders”, Burton says.

This experience and the Sports Performance Center serves as a way for coaches to get to know the riders and be evaluated as one of the many footprints leading to the Team Series.
