Tie-Down Roper Austin Hurlburt Advances Out of Bracket 1 into Semifinals at National Western

Austin Hurlburt advances into the Semifinals at the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo after two solid back-to-back runs

Austin Hurlburt’s tie-down roping at the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo saw him securing a spot in the Semifinals with an impressive 8.2-second performance in Round 1 of Bracket 1.

Hurlburt emphasized the challenge of facing tough calves and the need to capitalize on the quality of the draw.

Hurlburt, having faced challenges in the past, highlighted the satisfaction of being on top this time. The Nebraskan cowboy went on to cinch the No. 3 spot in Round 2 with a run of 10.0 seconds flat, bringing his aggregate time to 18.2 seconds.

As he advances into the Semifinals in the leading position out of Bracket 1, Hurlburt will be competing against fellow athletes including Zaine Mikita, who secured second place with 19.5 seconds on two head, and Colby Anders who claimed the last spot in the qualifiers with an aggregate time of 22 seconds flat.
