Bareback Rider Dean Thompson Has Leveled Up and is Ready for Ten Rounds in Las Vegas

Dean Thompson took notes on his performance and made some changes that reflect in his performance.

The second National Finals Rodeo for Utah bareback rider Dean Thompson is coming up next and after his regular season, he can’t wait.

“Oh man, what a year it’s been. I mean, I was kind of scrolling through some of my highlights this morning, going through and you know, seeing my wins and the progression I made this year is, it’s something else,” Thompson said.

After a winter storm halted his plans for the National Western, his season took off after a second-place finish at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. From there, Thompson’s season kept rolling.

“You always wonder how it;s going to go, how your seasons going to go when you’re coming off the NFR and having a few months off, January, doing nothing so I mean, it was awesome,” he said.

While his first NFR did not go as he expected, Thompson said that he has leveled up coming into Las Vegas.

“All I can say is I’m so proud of all the changes that I’ve made this year and the bareback rider I’ve become, I just think is next level compared to where I was at last year. I think that this year at the NFR, the No. 1 change you’ll see is no hesitation,” Thompson said

Thompson’s new found confidence will have him showing out like a veteran at the Thomas and Mack.
