Dean Thompson started the bareback at the Guymon Pioneer Days Rodeo with an 85-point ride on Frontier Rodeo’s Center Line, a horse that Thompson says is the kind of horse that is awesome no matter who gets on.
“I think that it’s the college horses I’ve been getting on at the rodeos, a little bit less power, so I’ve been really working on perfecting my spur ride and getting a lot of exposure so something like [Center Line] fit right in with me,” Thompson said.
He said he took advice from Josh Frost when it came to preparing for this rodeo and knowing something about the horse. He had an idea of what Center Line was like and then the horse made a little different trip with Thompson. He stayed underneath him and it was the perfect opportunity for Thompson to show off.
