Bareback Rider Mason Clements Wins Semifinals 1 to Carry on Texas Swing Hot Streak

Veteran bareback rider Mason Clements has been on fire.

Mason Clements found himself in yet another Texas Swing winner’s circle, this time, after an 86.5-point ride on Cervi Brother’s Tarzan.

“I knew that horse kind of throws his head back, has lots of moves. When I saw I had him, I knew I had to keep my feet, squeezing on the riggin, keep my chin tucked, let him go through those moves and then just start opening up on him. Let him do his job and let me really shine and get goging fast,” Clements said.

NRG Stadium has been electric through out each performance and Clements will return to do it all again on Championship Sunday.

Clements finished second at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo before he cashed in a Go-Round win in San Antonio and on the third leg of the Texas Swing, he has advanced to the Finals.

“Man, I really wanted to win a lot of money on this Texas Swing this year. I wanted to get the start that I’ve always been looking for my whole career,” he said.

A good winter can set up the summer run and Clements is focused on capitalizing when the getting is good. He is doing just that as he sits No. 5 in the PRCA World Standings.

“I’m craving bareback riding more than I ever have. I can see it, focus better, more than I ever have for some reason. Maybe it’s just from doing it all these years, it’s starting to pay off. I’m enjoying a lot of it right now,” he said.
