Barrel Racer Oceane Veilleux Capitalizes in Bracket 2 of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo

Canada’s Oceane Veilleux is two go-round wins in at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo.

After a turnout made it possible for Canadian barrel racer Oceane Veilleux to run at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, the 2024 Resistol Rookie of the Year is capitalizing on the opportunity like a veteran.

“I love this rodeo. This is one of my favorite rodeos and I’m so glad they called me. Somebody turned out and I got the chance to come back so I’m very grateful to be here,” Veilleux said.

For Veilleux, it is fate that she is back in San Antonio and her equine partner is loving it just as much as she is.

“Ice Cream loved this pattern. It’s a small pattern so when I got called I’m like ‘You’re running’ and he was like ‘Oh, hell yeah’. Coming down that tunnel, he’s like so excited so he loves this arena,” she said.

The duo picked up the Round 2 and 3 win with two runs that earned Veilleux $5,252 to be the No. 2 barrel racer advancing to the Semi-Finals from Bracket 2.
