Shelley Morgan was the first cowgirl out and she set the pace at 13.45 seconds only to be caught by the girl on fire, Kassie Mowry.
“You know, it hadn’t been the finals that we envisioned but I have an amazing husband that keeps encouraging me and the preacher before we came in told us to show up for what we were intended for so that’s what I intend to keep doing these last three rounds and good ol’ Kiss, you know her. I was really going to send her tonight and ask her for a lot since I was first on the ground and she pulled through,” Morgan said.
This makes five Go-Round wins in a row for Mowry, matching an NFR record, as she continues to fulfill a big wish of her late fiance.
“Just a whirlwind. I’m just riding everyday like it’s a one header and it’s been working so we’re going to keep on doing it,” Mowry said.
It will come down to Round 10 before we know a World Champion, but it looks more and more like it will be Kassie Mowry in the barrel racing after one of the greatest stretches in NFR history.
