Kassie Mowry 2023 NFR

Kassie Mowry continues to show why she is one of the greatest barrel racers of our time. Aboard the horse that helped her win over $188,000 at the 2023 National Finals Rodeo, Jarvis, she has qualified for her sixth trip to the Thomas and Mack.

A season of perseverance and resiliency is what 2024 looked like for Mowry and Jarvis. With a total of 27 rodeos for this season to their names, Mowry and Jarvis shined with every run they made.

San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, $22,500

The first of two Texas Swing titles that came Mowry’s way was in San Antone. A 14.34 would be her first time of the rodeo but she closed it with a blazing fast 13.68-second run. This was the fastest time of the rodeo and it was the $15,000 run for Mowry.

Rodeo Austin, $15,545

It was a battle between Mowry and Jodee Miller in Austin but Mowry came out on top. A 15.01 in Round 2 was fast enough for the win and outside of that, Mowry was smooth and steady, regularly clocking in the mid 15’s.

Her time on three runs was a 45.76, a full second and a half faster than any of the other barrel racers.

Utah Days of ’47 Rodeo, $14,500

Mowry set the pace in Salt Lake City when she won the Progressive Round by two tenths of a second over Halyn Lide. She picked up her next Go-Round win in the Third Performance with a 16.86 to be half a second faster than Taycie Matthews.

In the Gold Medal Round, Mowry clocked her second fastest time of the rodeo to win it all.

Gooding Pro Rodeo, $6,847

A swing in the northwest was a good one for Mowry. Her performance in Gooding, Idaho was as quick as the rest and it was there were she found herself the fastest cowgirl for the second time that week. This win came to the time of 16.76 and over $6,800.

Earlier that week, a time of 16.42-seconds was the best of the best in Canby, Oregon and it kickstarted a double for Mowry just when she needed it.

Horse Heaven Roundup Rodeo, $9,316

It was even further north from there for Mowry. A weekend in Washington was well spent that started with a win in Kennewick. A 16.95 was two tenths faster than fellow veteran barrel racer, Carlee Otero, for the Round 1 win.

In the Finals, Mowry and Jarvis kicked it up a notch to be 16.83 seconds to, yet again, beat Otero.

Later that same week, Mowry and Jarvis collected a second win at the Kitsap Stampede with a 16.84-second run.

Cinch Playoffs Governor’s Cup, $11,000

A Go-Round win at the Governor’s Cup would be how Mowry and Jarvis ended their spectacular regular season and it was a redemption round for the duo after two down barrels in Round 1. Their Round 2 time was 13.38 seconds, the fastest run of the rodeo by two tenths with the legendary Hailey Kinsel and Sister clocking the second fastest time.
