100 Rodeos in 100 Days is not only a celebration of rodeo on The Cowboy Channel, it’s also the time that the world’s best cowboys and cowgirls make their push for December’s NFR.
Here are some of the moments from the Summer of 2022 that will be talked about for years to come in the rodeo world.
Bareback Rider Rocker Steiner Wins Calgary Stampede Debut
The electrifying 19-year-old rookie continued to make history. In June, he set the World Record with a 95.5-point ride. Just a month later, he won one of the most prestigious in the world by riding Yippee Kibbitz for 91.5 points in the Showdown to win The Calgary Stampede.
Saddle Bronc Rider Brody Cress Rides for 93.5 Points to Win Xtreme Broncs Finale
In a Short Round Finals that saw four cowboys ride for at least 90 points, none were better than Brody Cress. The six-time NFR qualifier was 180 points on two horses to win the rodeo and collect more than $23,000.
Team Ropers Kaleb Driggers/Junior Nogueira Set Cowboy Christmas Earnings Record with More Than $35,000
The winners of two Gold Buckles in a row showed why they’re the best in the world during the 4th of July run last year. They entered nine rodeos and won four of them, including PRCA Playoff Series wins at the St. Paul Rodeo (Oregon), Cody Stampede (Wyoming) and World’s Oldest Rodeo (Arizona).
Bull Rider Stetson Wright Rides for 93 at Caldwell Night Rodeo
At the popular Idaho rodeo, Wright was 93 points, one of the PRCA-leading 11 rides of 90+ he had in the 2022 season. The 93 points matched his season-high and earned him nearly $9,000 en route to his second PRCA Bull Riding World Championship in the last three years.
Barrel Racer Hailey Kinsel Places in All Three Rounds to Win Ellensburg for First Time
On her way to her fourth Gold Buckle, Hailey Kinsel won the Ellensburg Rodeo with an aggregate time of 51.51 seconds. It was Kinsel’s highest paying win of 100 Rodeos in 100 Days.
Six-Time World Champion Bareback Rider Kaycee Feild Wins Pendleton For First Time
Feild rode Irish Eyes for 90 points in the Short Round to win the September rodeo for the first time in his career. The legendary cowboy has won several of the biggest rodeos in the world in his career, but still needs to check off Cheyenne and Calgary now.
Saddle Bronc Rider Logan Hay Wins Debut Calgary Stampede
A Canadian cowboy and son 20-time NFR qualifier Rod Hay, it feels like Logan was almost destined to win his first Stampede. He was 89.5 points in the Four-Man Showdown and beat a field that included his younger brother Dawson. Hay collected $50,000 en route to his first NFR appearance. July 2022 was terrific to him, he set a World Record earlier that month with 95.5 points.
