Wacey Schalla is a stand-out All-Around Rookie that is making a name for himself.

Oklahoma’s own Wacey Schalla made his first trip to Cheyenne Frontier Days and dominated in both events.

It all got started with an 83.5-point ride on Rocky Mountain Rodeo’s Hondo in the Quarter Finals to move him on in the bareback riding. He followed it up with an 88-point ride in the Semifinals aboard Smith Pro Rodeo’s Independence. He would make his highest marked ride in the Finals with an 89 to tie for second.

The standout rookie picked up the win in the Quarter Finals bull riding as well thanks to an 84-point ride on Smith Pro Rodeos’ Island Time. He drew Dakota Rodeo’s Sneaky Situation in the Semifinals and he marked a 91 to be his highest marked ride at the Dad. He was 83 in the Finals to finish third.

In total, it was a $21,000 rookie run at the Daddy of ‘Em All. Schalla leads the Resistol Rookie Race in the All-Around and bull riding while he sits second in the bareback. As for the World Standings, he sits No. 9 in the bull riding and No. 28 in the bareback.
