One of the oldest continuously held outdoor rodeos in America, set in bronc riding country, The Black Hills Roundup kicked off last night in Belle Fourche, South Dakota, with big names and big action.
Highlights of Night One included Nate McFadden’s 85-point ride on Powder River Rodeo’s Rich N Fancy to take the lead in the bareback, steer wrestler Tyler Waguespack’s flawless 3.4-second run, and both Stetson and Ryder Wright placing in the saddle bronc riding with Ryder taking the lead, going 86.5 points on Powder River Rodeo’s Loaded Deck. But the most exciting moment had to be Trey Kimzey’s 85-point ride on Powder River Rodeo’s No. 759e. Not only did Trey have the high score of the night in the bull riding, he also bested older brother and 6X World Champion Sage Kimzey, who did not make it to the buzzer.
