Bobby Mote Details Upcoming Plans for WCRA Rodeo Carolina and How to Help with Hurricane Helene Relief

WCRA has rescheduled Rodeo Carolina in wake of Hurricane Helene.

In the wake of the tragedy that is Hurricane Helene, the World Champions Rodeo Alliance has postponed Rodeo Carolina until October 30-November 2.

The home of WCRA’s Rodeo Carolina, Tryon International Equestrian Center and Resort, is currently home to many Hurricane Helene relief efforts including FEMA, Red Cross and being a drop spot for any and all supples.

“Our heart goes out to those folks back there that are affected by this... It’s a horrible situation. It’s beautiful country, great people back there that love rodeo and we’re currently exploring ways that we can help benefit them in any way possible,” WCRA President Bobby Mote said.

Together with Tryon International Equestion Center and Resort, the postpoing of Rodeo Carolina will keep stock and crew as a priority while continuing to help local residents.

“They’ve been great partners. What they’re doing for their local community is great. We’re exploring ways that we can help raise funds as well but in the short term, as it stands as far as the rodeo goes, the same qualifiers are coming,” Mote said.

Due to date conflictions, there are a few spots open to fill at Rodeo Carolina during this tough situation. Mote says that resilency and banding together is what this industry is good at and this situation will be no different.
