Brandon Ballard’s Gritty Shootout Ride Earns Him Resistol Rookie Roundup Bull Riding Title

The 22-year-old Kentucky cowboy took home the big prize

For the second consecutive year, the eight-man Shootout was the deciding round at the Resistol Rookie Roundup.

After everyone got bucked off in the Finals, Brandon Ballard’s 80.5-point ride earlier Saturday proved to be enough.

“It’s a great accomplishment, I wish I would’ve finished it a little better, but we did our job,” he said.

The Pete Carr Pro Rodeo and United Pro Rodeo stock proved tough for the cowboys all week as there were just three qualified rides total in three rounds.
