Breakaway Phenoms Martha and Sarah Angelone Talk RodeoHouston and 2025 Season

The World Champion duo that doubles as sisters joins Western Sports Round-Up.

Martha and Sarah Angelone are no strangers to success in the rodeo arena and they are gunning for it all at RodeoHouston.

“It’s a lot on what you draw here and with the girls that we have in our set, it dang sure is stacked but it’s also going to depend on the cattle we draw too. So it kind of makes it exciting because you’ve got to know that you have to go out and make your best run that you possibly can every single time right here,” Martha said.

Sarah has won her Super Series before and for her, it is all about scoring good no matter your draw. Three Go-Rounds means three chances to cash in and advance.

The other part of the equation is horsepower. Martha calls on Legend while Sarah will switch up her horse to a young gelding that she calls Loui.

“He’s been fantastic so I’m going to crack him out first at Houston, hopefully he’s ready for it. I’ve been hauling him a bunch so I think he’s ready,” Sarah said.

While the Angelone girls have been a huge part of the glass ceiling shattering that breakaway ropers have done, the learning curve is still there for the veteran cowgirls but their focus this week, RodeoHouston.
