Breakaway Roper Maddy Deerman Stops the Clock Quick in Round 1 of Her Bracket at Fort Worth

Maddy Deerman takes Round 1 of Bracket 5 in the first leg of the Texas Swing.

Maddy Deerman has quickly made a name for herself and the National Finals Breakaway Roper is adding to it with her success at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. With a time of 1.9 seconds, she claimed the Round 1 win of Bracket 5.

“I was pretty nervous about my calf because he ran earlier in the calf roping and so I hadn’t been able to watch any of the other girls go. I kind of took a chance and it paid off,” Deerman said.

She set the pace for Round 1 and is looking to capitalize in Fort Worth with the kind of payout that it can bring as the first leg of the Texas Swing.
