Bridger Anderson and Trisyn Kalawaia Split Pool C Round 1 Calgary Stampede Win

The first two steer wrestlers out, Bridger Anderson and Trisyn Kalawaia, were unbeatable in Calgary.

The first two steer wrestlers to nod in Pool C were Bridger Anderson and Trisyn Kalawaia. A pair of 4.1’s would get the Go-Round win by over half a second to add $6,250 to each of their names.

“It’s great. I was definitely nervous but I had a good steer and riding a great horse of Tanner Milan’s, Eddie. After that run I was pretty confident, it’s great to be here,” Kalawaia said.

The Hawaiian bull dogger is gunning for his first National Finals Rodeo qualification while Anderson is looking to return to the Thomas and Mack with his equine partner, Whiskers.

“Calgary is a great rodeo and a great place to catch up a little bit on the money won and the standings. I’m not real sure where I’m at, I know there’s a lot of money to be won and I’m glad to have my horse back, Whiskers, and Tyler Pearson did a great job hazing on Slim. I’m glad to be living the dream in the places we always dreamed of living it,” Anderson said.

Both Anderson and Kalawaia emphasized their horsepower and the duo’s friendship makes splitting this Round 1 win a little sweeter.
