Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi Jumps to No. 1 at Rodeo Austin Aboard Sir Epic

The fastest time in Austin is courtesy of World Champion Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi.

Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi’s newest addition to her arsenal of horsepower is a tremendous gray called Sir Epic. The two’s latest conquest comes during the fourth leg of the Texas Swing as they now lead Rodeo Austin.

“We were just talking about how amazing that horse is. He can go in right next to the barrels and then just go half a stride by and come just right out the back side of it. And he’s so big, he’s like 16.2 hands and it’s just pretty amazing how athletic he is,” Pozzi Tonozzi said about Sir.

With a foundation from the $7 million cowgirl and World Champion Barrel Racer Kassie Mowry, Pozzi Tonozzi says the constant job with Sir is keeping him elevated and in Austin, she did just that.

“You know, a horse has a good foundation like that, they make the jockie’s job easier,” she said.

Their 15.08-second run sits No. 1 by two tenths of a second ahead of Tricia Aldridge, Mowry and Andrea Busby, who currently round out the Top 4.
