Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi’s Great Mare, Katniss, Has Passed Away

We are saddened by the news that Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi’s, Katniss, has passed away at age 9. Pozzi Tonozzi announced the news on social media Tuesday morning.

Katniss will forever be known as one of the greatest barrel racing horses in the history of the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association.

Katniss made many great runs including placing in numerous rounds at the National Finals Rodeo, winning San Angelo, and turning in the fastest time at The American. Katniss and Brittany were a tremendous team with countless accomplishments.

“Words cannot begin to describe how heartbroken we are with the passing of Katniss. She had an amazing heart and tried her hardest every time,” Pozzi Tonozzi wrote on Facebook. “She was a part of our family and we will remember her as one of the greats.”

Our condolences go out to Brittany during this time.
