Brody Cress Captures National Western Title With 91-Point Ride

The Wyoming cowboy matched his own arena record in Denver to take over World No. 1 spot

Brody Cress started his 2024 year off with a big win at the National Western thanks to a 91-point ride in the Finals. Cress has a history with his draw, R Watson’s Ed Bishop.

“He’s a great horse, I was able to win the shootout in Fort Madison on him last year and that’s the last time he was bucked. I knew coming in here he was going to be fresh, give me a chance. I just needed to do my job.”

It took 91 points to get the win, something Cress knows he will have to continue to do throughout the season with as much talent as there is in the bronc riding.

The talent in the bronc riding is out of this world right now so if you don’t show up, do your job, and take care of business, you’re not going to win anything.”

In total, Cress earned nearly $10,000 at the rodeo and has now earned more than $36,000 on the year, which puts him No. 1 in the PRCA Saddle Bronc Riding World Standings.
