California bull rider Jordan Spears made up for a no score in Round 1 at the San Diego Rodeo with an 82.75 in Round 2 to land a spot on Championship Sunday in his homestate. He snuck right past eight seconds in the Eight-Man Round with an 87.75 on Lonestar before he climbed on Rosser Rodeo’s Sweet Justice in the Four-Man. From there, it was all grit that got him to the whistle for the win.
“Well I didn’t leave there really good with him and I was kind of losened up there to begin with and never really felt solid and just kept moving and hustling like I did on the other ones and luckily it worked out,” Spears said.
For Spears, Championship Sunday was full of business man’s decisions and grit. The 82.5-point ride was the only qualified ride in the Shoot Out Round to make the home state cowboy your Champion in Petco Park at the San Diego Rodeo.
