Bull Rider TJ Gray Capitalizes in San Angelo Aboard Pickett Pro Rodeo’s Justified

TJ Gray goes to the top of the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo leaderboard.

TJ Gray hit a stide in the 2024 season that he has yet to let off of. The Oregon bull rider sits No. 5 in the World and he continues to add to it. He took the lead at the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo with an 89 on Pickett Pro Rodeo’s Justified.

“Yeah, I told you it puts a lot of pressure on me. When you’re the matchup of the night, you have to perform. But, it was a great bull and I was just blessed to draw him,” Gray said.

Looking back at his past trips to San Angelo, Gray’s highest marked ride was a 78 last season on another Pickett Pro Rodeo bull, Ranger Walker.

“It feels real good. I’m not sure if that’s facts but thinking back, I don’t think I’ve ever been too many points here. It’s one on my checklist that I’ve been really wanting to do good at so yeah, it’s been a good start,” he said.

Gray says his early success comes from leaving it all up to the Lord.

Along with Gray’s chart topping ride, Grayson Cole rode the unridden Oklahoma Smokey of Pickett’s to be 87 and move in for a tie at second.
