After an emotional 2024 season, Tristen Hutchings is the No. 11 ranked bull rider in the PRCA World Standings heading back to his third straight NFR, and he is doing so with a precedent of success in Las Vegas.
With five Go-Round wins to his name at the Thomas & Mack, as well as PRCA-leading six 90+ Point Rides in 2024, we can expect Hutchings to be a threat to win the Go-Round all 10 nights.
Still Creek Stampede, $1,337
On March 16, Hutchings got his first win of the 2024 regular season when he rode Andrews Rodeo’s Magic Country Bu for a whopping 89 points. He was one of only four qualified rides.
The very next weekend, he rode Little Bill for 88 poijts and third place at the Wharton County Youth Fair, which paid him more than $3,500.
Redding Rodeo, $6,030
In the middle of May, Hutchings’ performance in California would result in his second win of the season and first of five Playoff Series wins. Aboard Bridwell Pro Rodeo’s Sea Smoke, Hutchings put together an 86.5-point ride that would split the win between him and Chance Schott. He has won a rodeo in California in each of the last three seasons.
Reno Rodeo, $23,324
Hutchings dominated Reno and was paid handsomely for it. He delivered a pair of 90.5-point riedes, the Long Round’s aboard Flying U Rodeo’s Bad Habits and the Short Go’s on Rosser Rodeo’s Logun’s Legacy. He won the rodeo by 5.5 points and moved from No. 10 to No. 6 in the PRCA World Standings.
Fiesta Days Rodeo, $12,267
While his feat in Reno was impressive, Hutchings’ best work of the regular season came about a month later in Utah. His draw was a Frontier Rodeo bull called Cold Roller and after eight seconds later, Hutchings was marked 92.5 points to top the leaderboard. It was the highest marked bull ride of the PRCA regular season.
The War Bonnett Round, $2,989
Korkow Rodeo’s Salinas is the bull that Hutchings slid up on in Idaho for yet another win. With another 90-point ride, Hutchings cinched the win by just half a point over Tyler Bingham to make sure August got started right.
Cache County Fair and Rodeo, $5,443
It would be 90 points, once again, that carried Hutchings to the pay window in Utah. Legacy Pro Rodeo’s No. 780 was the bull he got it done on and he left the winner by three points.
Golden Spike Rodeo, $6,542
The final win of Hutchings’ regular season also came in Utah. Legacy Pro Rodeo’s Angels Landing was the draw for the other half of what was yet another 90-point score.
