Friday was an exciting night one at the inaugural Bulls in the Ballpark — a new XTreme Bull event hosted by Rodeo Austin and Round Rock Express at Dell Diamond in Austin.

Being held November 13 – 14, Bulls in the Ballpark features 35 of the toughest bull riders (nine of them qualifiers for the 2020 NFR) facing off each night against the rowdiest bulls in ProRodeo for $20,000 in prize money and the title of Bulls in the Ballpark Champion.

On Friday, 15 of the 35 competitors made qualified rides with 11 of them scoring 80 or better.

Jesse Hopper matched No. 2 man Ky Hamilton’s 84 to split sixth behind NFR qualifier Clayton Sellars and Gavin Michel, who went 85 each to split fourth and fifth. NFR qualifier Brady Portenier took third with an 87.5-point ride on Andrews Rodeo’s Dirty White Boy while Matt Palmer finished second with 89 points on Red Jacket. But it was Fletcher Jowers who came out on top, going 92 points on Andrews Rodeo’s Desperate Marr for the lead.

Night two brings 35 more to the arena to try and outdo Friday’s high scorers. It’s all live on The Cowboy Channel and Cowboy Channel+ app at 8PM ET.
