By the numbers: Five-time NFR qualifier Blake Knowles wins Colorama Rodeo

Blake Knowles is just No. 23 in the world right now, but he is a cowboy to watch in the steer wrestling as summer comes around.

The 38-year-old recently shared the win at the Colorama Rodeo in Grand Coulee (Washington) and also made two runs of 4.5 in at the Guymon Pioneer Days, although he didn’t win a check for either of those. However, he did go to the pay window in Clovis which concluded on April 25 and Stonyford (California) which concluded on May 1.

Knowles is 31-for-37 this season in terms of qualified attempts with an average time of 4.96 seconds. He is on pace for the best average time of his 20-year career, which shows the five-time NFR qualifier can certainly make it back to Vegas this year if he keeps bulldogging like this.

As of May 11, he has $12,185. Cody Devers is No. 15 with $15,594. You can see the full standings here.
