Calgary Day 6 Recap

Day 6 at the Calgary Stampede has wrapped up. Here is a look at all of the highlights from Wednesday’s rodeo!

Shelby Spielman took Barrel Racing with a 17.42 second time and has now won $10,000 in two days at the Rodeo. Stacy Ruzicka took second place on Wednesday with a 17.62-second run. Ruzicka has now won $8,000 during the rodeo. Lindsay Kruse was the fastest Barrel Racer in day one of Pool B and tied for third on day two with a 17.67-second time.

Jesse Pope has dominated Bareback Riding in the first two days of Pool B. On day one he went 89.5 points and took the round. He would follow that up with a 90 point ride on Snap Chat during day two’s performance.

After his ride, Pope said, “It was awesome, I was excited to have that horse, Richie Champion’s Father in Law raised that horse. It is a super good one... It is all gas and no breaks.”

In Steer Wrestling Eli Lord went 4.0 seconds to take the second day in Pool B. Lord has now won $8,000 and currently sits in first place in Pool B.

Saddle Bronc riding was led by Allen Boore, who went 88 points on Wednesday and is currently the unofficial winner of day two because three re-rides need to occur.

Wyatt Casper, Ben Andersen, and Chet Johnson are all set to take a re-ride during Thursday’s performance.

Justin Smith went sub-seven seconds in Tie-Down Roping after having a no time on day one of Pool B. Smith went 6.9 seconds to earn $5,500 and is now in second place in Pool B. 2020 World Champion Shad Mayfield took second place with a 7.2 second time. Mayfield had a no time in his first go and is now in fourth place in the Pool B standings.

In Bull Riding, it has been all about Josh Frost. He split round one and does the same thing in round two with an 85.5 point ride. Frost split the win with Lonnie West who went 85.5 on Skyfall.
