Orin Larsen is fresh off a battle for a Canadian title as he heads into his ninth straight National Finals Rodeo.
Larsen is entering the Thomas & Mack as the No. 6 ranked bareback rider in the World with $147,237 in total earnings. After finishing the 2022 season with an injury that took him out in the middle of the NFR, Larsen looks to channel more of 2019, when he finished fourth in the Average and won the World Title.

California Rodeo Salinas, $11,078
At the iconic California Rodeo Salinas, Larsen secured his spot in the Finals with an 82-point ride before he put on a show to win it all. He was 89 Points to win the Finals and his total of 171 points on two head landed him No. 1 in the Average.
Cinch Playoffs Governor’s Cup (South Dakota), $9,750
Battling through the Go-Rounds with consistency landed Larsen a spot in the Semifinals in Sioux Falls with a total, of 163.5 points on two-head. He was an 84.5 in the Semifinals before being an 81.5 in the Finals. Although it wasn’t the trip he was hoping for, Sioux Falls still panned out to be one of Larsen’s highest paying rodeos of the regular season.
Utah Days of ’47 Rodeo, $8,500
Larsen’s 86-point ride and second-place finish in the Fourth Performance in Salt Lake City landed him with a shot in the Gold Medal Round. It was there that his 87.5-point ride on Outlawbuckers Rodeo’s Free Shipping was enough for a Silver Medal, which paid $7,000 of his $8,500.

Ponoka Stampede (Alberta), 90.75 Points
After two rides of 88.5 points, Larsen exploded for his highest marked ride of the year to beat out World No. 3 Kade Sonnier, who finished second.
Sundre Rodeo (Alberta), 89.5 points
One on his five total wins on home turf in Canada, Larsen drew a standout horse of the Calgary Stampede’s in Sundre, Alberta. Agent Lynx would be his matchup and he would end up riding for 89.5 points to get the win.
NOTABLE WINS
Missoula (Montana) Stampede, 88.5 points
The middle of August brought another good matchup Larsen’s way when he drew Sankey Pro Rodeo and Phenom Genetics’ Bronc Riding Naton in Montana. They would top the leaderboard with a strong 88.5-point ride to cinch another win and a payday of almost $4,000.
New Town Rodeo (North Dakota), 88 points
Following Cowboy Christmas, Larsen matched up with Mosbrucker Rodeo’s Dreams End in New Town, North Dakota. The dust would settle on an 8-second ride that would come in at 88 points to cinch the Canadian cowboy the $5,288 win by a point and a half.
