Canadian Finals Rodeo: Thursday Night Daysheet, Performance 2

The second of five performances at the Canadian National Finals is set up to be just as rank as the first one.

BAREBACK RIDING

Calgary Stampede standouts like Disco Party, Yippee Kibitz, Agent Lynx and Blasting Sand are all out tonight and the horsepower might be favored. We can expect big scores if the cowboys can match their draw. Kody Lamb has been 85.5 on Agent Kynx before on their home turf.

STEER WRESTLING

Scott Guenthner did what we all knew he would. He threw down a 3.8 to be three tenths of a second faster than anybody else. It was the PRCA’s No. 1 cowboy who was second, Dalton Massey.

TEAM ROPING

Kavis Drake and Denim Ross put together a 4.2-second run to smoke their competition in Performance 1. The next closest time was a 5.1 courtesy of Levi Simpson and Logan Cullen.

SADDLE BRONC RIDING

Zeke Thurston has momentum flowing his way but Logan Hay was only one hole out of the money on Night No. 1 and once again, he has a rematch in Performance 2. Hay and Calgary Stampede’s Tokyo Bubbles were 87.5 points at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo earlier this year.

TIE-DOWN ROPING

Alberta’s own Shane Smith was a 7.4 in Performance 1 while an 8.4 is what closed out the pay window. Both Haven Meged and Shane Hanchey pulled a check on Night No. 1 but the competition is almost garunteed to speed up.

BREAKAWAY ROPING

Macy Auclair’s 1.8 set a quick bar for the remaining four performances. We also saw a pair of 2.4’s on Night No. 1 while Caitlin Dahm’s 3.3 picked up the final check.

BARREL RACING

Taylor Manning has had success at the CFR before and she is at it again. By one tenth of a second, she claimed Performance 1 over Texas cowgirl Tiany Schuster.

BULL RIDING

After only two qualified rides on Night No. 1, the heat is on for the bull riders. Ashton Sahli was 88 points last night and tonight, he is matched up with Macza Pro Rodeo’s Blue Bombshell who Roscoe Jarboe rode for 84 points at the Pendleton Round-Up.
