Catching Up With Scott Guenthner as he Looks For Third Straight Candian Steer Wrestling Title

Guenthner enters the CFR No. 3 in 2024

Scott Guenthner has won the last two Candian Titles in the steer wrestling and four of the last five, prior to Round 1 of the 50th CFR he caught up with Katy Lucas.

While he does not have as much money as he did going into the last two CFRs, Guenthner accomplished something very rare in rodeo - being able to be home with his family for three or four days a week.

"(I used to) only see them once a month if I was lucky,” he said.

Guenthner, who has now made nine CFRs, said the event is as competitive as ever.

“I think it’s going to be a tough, a lot of good guys, it’s pretty jam packed, new building, I think the atmosphere is going to be real good in there, real intense,” he said.

Guenthner went on to win Round 1 with a 3.8.
