Cowboy singer-songwriter Chancey Williams and the Younger Brothers Band are taking over Western Sports Round-Up tomorrow night on The Cowboy Channel at 6:00 PM ET.
The band has recorded an acoustic session exclusively for WSR and will share the official music video for their song “Fastest Gun in Town” — featuring more than a few rodeo athletes you’re sure to recognize. Chancey will also join the WSR hosts via Skype to talk country music, his rodeo days, his deep ranching roots, and his love for his home state of Wyoming.
ABOUT CHANCEY WILLIAMS AND THE YOUNGER BROTHERS BAND
Chancey was raised on a ranch near the small town of Moorcroft, Wyoming, where his mom is a recently retired school teacher, his dad and brother ranch, and his other brother is the head coach of a notable high school wrestling dynasty. Chancey credits his strong family ties and work ethic for pretty much everything he has.
Chancey, like his father, Dennis, was a state champion wrestler in high school. He also followed in his dad’s footsteps as a saddle bronc rider, going to the National High School Rodeo Finals, the College National Finals, and even winning a couple of rounds at Cheyenne Frontier Days.
As a musician with a fan base throughout the West who’s beloved by his fellow Wyomingites, Chancey is the only artist in addition to Chris LeDoux to be invited to ride in the “Daddy of ‘Em All, and he is always proud to represent the Cowboy State.
In 2017, Chancey returned to the NFR for the second year in a row to perform with the band at the opening ceremony on night nine. It’s rare for an artist to perform two consecutive years at the National Finals, indicative of Chancey’s large following in the rodeo community.
Chancey was chosen as one of five artists from around country, including Darius Rucker, to be featured in the BBC’s USA Through Music, and in 2018, he and the Younger Brothers Band were named Rocky Mountain CMA Entertainer of the Year.
The band’s latest album, Rodeo Cold Beer, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Mountain Heatseekers Chart, No. 5 on the Billboard West North Central Heatseakers Chart, and No. 7 on the iTunes Country Albums Chart.

Chancey and his drummer, lifelong friend Travis DeWitt, started the Younger Brothers Band with the initial goal of entering a high school talent contest. The pair had no idea it would lead to small fairs, then big fairs, small bars, then large clubs, and become a full-time career. They are joined by the amazing harmonies and lead guitar of Wyatt Springsteen and the stunning fiddle of Brooke Latka. More recently, Jay Lee Downing joined the band on bass guitar. The result is Chancey Williams and the Younger Brothers Band, a rowdy, raucous, unapologetic, memorable stage show.
“We just love to play, travel, record our music and represent the great state of Wyoming,” says Chancey. “It’s just in our blood, I can’t imagine doing anything else.”
