Brody Cress placed second in the saddle bronc riding in round 1 of the seventh and final bracket at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo Tuesday night, scoring 86.5 points on one of Four Star Rodeo Co.'s rising-star bucking horses. After his ride, he takes western sports reporter Amy Wilson through it.
“This is a young horse that Jerry Burns just sold to Four Star ... just outstanding,” Cress says. “I think I’d like to go a little more rein on him next time, just to be able to get back a little better, but I mean, what a fun horse. As long as you do your job, you know, coming to a rodeo this big where you want to advance through rounds and everything, he gives you a chance to do that.”
Unfortunately, following the Bracket 7 second performance, Cress ended up fourth overall and will not be advancing to the semi-finals. But he won’t let the disappoint get to him.
“No matter what sports you’re in,” Cress says, "...there’s lots of ups and downs. So, you gotta figure out how to get through the down times so you can get back up to the up times.”
