Cheyenne Frontier Days: Sunday Matinee Daysheet, Performance 2

The Daddy of ‘Em All is always impressive and Day 1 was no exception. The bar has been set in the Quarter Finals and Day 2 will bring you fan favorites and also some new faces.

BAREBACK RIDING

Rocker Steiner and Rocky Mountain Rodeo’s Hard Times are out in the middle of the pack chasing Garrett Shadbolt’s 85.5 to take over the lead. Hard Times has only had two outs in the 2024 season, one of them being Kade Sonnier’s 81.5 at the Greeley Stampede.

STEER WRESTLING

Talon Roseland finished second in the Qualifier with a 6.5-second run. A 6.5 is sitting second again to kick off the Quarter Finals.

TEAM ROPING

Lightning Aguilera and Lane Mitchell tied for the qualifier win alongside Erik Becenti and Shawn Murphy. Their 7.4-seconds runs remain to be the fastest runs we have seen at this year’s Cheyenne Frontier Days.

SADDLE BRONC RIDING

Your reigning College National Finals Champion Gus Gaillard has a match up with Angel Eyes of Rocky Mountain Rodeo. This is a veteran bucking horse who has had three outs this season.

TIE-DOWN ROPING

Riley Pruitt’s 9.8 won the Wildcard and secured his place in the Quarter Finals. An 11.7 is the current lead after Performance 1 with a 14.1 getting into the money as of right now.

BREAKAWAY ROPING

McKenna’s Hickson’s 4.7 landed her in the money during the Qualifier and she is chasing a 4.6-second run that holds the lead after Performance 1.

BARREL RACING

Tarryn Lee and Emily Beisel got a piece of the Qualifier money with a matching time of 17.44 to tie for eighth. LaTricia Duke ran the second fastest time of the entire rodeo during Performance 1 when she stopped the clock at 17.16 seconds with two 17.31’s rounding out the Top 4 after Day 1.

BULL RIDING

Rookie Wacey Schalla will climb on his second event of the day come the bull riding. Smith Pro Rodeo’s Island Times has one qualified ride this season for 85.5 points with Donnie Rutherford.
