Cheyenne Wimberley Wins Bracket 3, Round 1 in Fort Worth to Continue Early Success in Texas

Cheyenne Wimberley already won more than $5,000 for her title at the Sandhills Stock Show and Rodeo earlier this month and she added another Texas triumph on Tuesday night.

Wimberley raced to a time of 16.46 seconds to win Bracket 3, Round 1 and present herself with a good opportunity to advance to the Semifinals of the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo.

“Yeah, he (her horse Chewy) did really good, this is first time to be in the buildings so he’s really stepping it up,” Wimberley said.

Wimberley finished in front of a trio of fellow 2021 NFR qualifiers. Molly Otto was 16.56, Lisa Lockhart was 16.59 and Jessica Routier rounded out the group in the money with a time of 16.61. The Top 2 cowgirls in each bracket advance to the Semifinals and third place goes to the Wild Card.
