Cheyenne Wimberley Wins First Barrel Racing Playoff Semifinal at RodeoAustin

Cheyenne Wimberley raced to the fourth-fastest time so far through 12 performances at Rodeo Austin to claim victory in the event’s first of three Playoff Semifinals.

Wimberley, who was clocked at 15.48 seconds Wednesday night, will likely advance to the Championship Round, however, it is not guaranteed yet because in Austin, the Top 8 of 24 competitors across three Playoff Semifinals advance to the winner-take-all Short Go.

“I said from the beginning, it’s kind of like an obstacle course out there,” she said. “It’s tough, you have to really be thinking and be on their toes out there.”

You can watch the final two Playoff Semifinals at the Championship Round of Rodeo Austin Thursday, Friday and Saturday only on The Cowboy Channel and The Cowboy Channel+.
