Cinch Playoff Governor’s Cup: Saturday Night Daysheet, Performance 3

It all comes down to tonight in Sioux Falls. Only four of the eight contestants in each event will move on to the Short Round and Champions will be crowned. A $30,000 payday awaits the winner and it begins at 8:00 PM ET on The Cowboy Channel and Cowboy Channel+.

BAREBACK RIDING

Louisiana’s Waylon Bourgeois is $20,000 out of the Top 15 in the World and to win it in Sioux Falls, pays just what he needs. His Semifinals match up is Black Dress of Bailey Pro Rodeo. Earlier this year, Colton Clemens was 82.5 on the bucking horse and Bourgeois has his work cut out for him. He just has to be inside the Top 4 to advance.

STEER WRESTLING

Justin Shaffer did what he needed to do early on at the Governor’s Cup and he is now the No. 11 ranked steer wrestler in the World and the lowest ranked of the eight cowboys in the Semifinals. Shaffer blew off the bubble and now, it is a battle to see who can add the extra padding to their regular season earnings before Las Vegas, where every penny counts.

TEAM ROPING

Cyle Denison is the No. 13 header in the World but he is less than $1,000 ahead of the No. 15 man, Erich Rogers. Denison and Braden picked up the Round 2 win last night after a repeat run of 3.9 seconds. Can they do it again in the Semifinals to move on?

SADDLE BRONC RIDING

Logan Cook’s dreams of the bright lights of the Thomas and Mack is still alive. He is $14,000 out of the No. 15 spot that is currently held by Ryder Sanford. Both cowboys are fighting to hang on while Damian Brennan broke the season earnings record after his Round 2 win.

TIE-DOWN ROPING

Hunter Herrin’s Round 2 success secured his place in the Semifinals and he is now inside the Top 15 by just $200. Shad Mayfield and Lollipop have been on a roll, they were one of two 7.2-second runs to split the Round 2 win and lock in his shot at the Governor’s Cup.

BREAKAWAY ROPING

TiAda Gray is fighting for her shot in Las Vegas. She got half a second faster in Round 2 to tie for second but she comes back high call to the Semifinals wit her eye on the Governor’s Cup.

BARREL RACING

LaTricia Duke and Shelley Morgan are the two cowgirls sitting right on the bubble. Duke’s success in Round 1 played a big part in pushing her higher. She is the No. 4 lady in the Average to come back but it is a clean slate in the Semifinals and Finals.

BULL RIDING

We started with Resistol Rookies making up one third of the contestants and all four have advanced to the Semifinals. Jeter Lawrence has stayed on a heater and his Semifinals bull is Brookman Rodeo’s Devil’s Eye. Hawk Whitt covered this bull for 88 points in Wolf Point earlier this year to be one of two qualified rides this season.
