Cinch Playoff Series Governor’s Cup: Friday Night Daysheet, Performance 2

Round 1 already brought shifts in the World Standings and the bubble watch is still on in Sioux Falls.

BAREBACK RIDING

Keenan Hayes picked up the Round 1 win but it was Jacob Lees who’s second-place earnings jumped him into the Top 10 in the World. Little Lunatic was 86 with Cole Reiner earlier this year and tonight, Lees will go toe-to-toe with the Burch Rodeo bucking horse.

STEER WRESTLING

Justin Shaffer’s 3.9 put him second in Round 1 and has moved him off the bubble and up to No. 11 in the World. As for Tristan Martin, he is stll gunning for the Top 15 and it will only take $2,000 to get him there.

TEAM ROPING

Tyler Wade and Wesley Thorp only added heat to Dustin Egusquiza and Levi Lord when it comes time for a World Title race in December. Tanner Braden’s second-place finish has moved him from No. 15 to No. 11 and the pressure is now on Travis Graves.

SADDLE BRONC RIDING

Ryder Sanford is now right on the bubble. His Round 2 match up is Three Hills Rodeo’s Devil’s Advocate, a horse that Cooper Lane and Lefty Holman have both recently been 87.5 points on.

TIE-DOWN ROPING

Hunter Herrin’s Round 1 did not go how he needed but Round 2 can still make a difference. Round 1’s top three times were only three tenths of a second a part with Riley Webb’s 7.6 taking the win.

BREAKAWAY ROPING

Kelsie Domer is on her way to defending her title when she smoked a 2.2-second run in Round 1. A total of six breakaway ropers pulled a check in Round 1 and including the No. 2 and No. 3 cowgirls in the World.

BARREL RACING

LaTricia Duke’s 14.03 put her second in the Go-Round and should move her off the No. 14 bubble while Shelley Morgan also picked up a check that could move her off of the No. 15 hole.

BULL RIDING

The rookies were at it again in Round 1 with three of the four pulling checks. Wacey Schalla is gunning to make it four tonight and add to his already phenomenal year.
