The Cinch Playoffs held at the Washington State Fair in Puyallup paid almost $600,000 total, with at least $13,000 going to each of the winners.
In the bareback riding, it was a tie at the top between Jayco Roper and Clayton Biglow as both cowboys impressed with 91-point rides. The other two finalists, Kade Sonnier and Keenan Hayes, were both marked 90.5 points.
In steer wrestling, World No. 1 Dalton Massey extended his record-setting regular season earnings total to more than $185,000 by winning the rodeo with a 3.5-second run in the Finals.
The team roping was won by Tyler Wade/Wesley Thorp, a pair that has won more than $100,000 each since 100 Rodeos in 100 Days began. Wade is up to No. 4 in the and Thorp is the No. 2 heeler.
Cheyenne Frontier Days Champion Ryder Sanford added more to his terrific rookie season by winning the first leg of the Playoffs in the saddle bronc riding with 89 points aboard Calgary’s Dandy Delight in the Finals. Sanford moved from No. 19 to No. 14 in the world with the victory.
Tie-down roping and barrel racing were both dominated by the World No. 1. Riley Webb and Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi each won the Semifinals and Finals in their respective events.
In bull riding, Trey Kimzey capped a perfect 4-for-4 performance with 84 points on Wayne Vold’s Hard Not to Get. He was the only bull rider to make the whistle all four rounds.
Lastly in breakaway roping, Maddy Deerman was 3.1 seconds to win the Finals after taking second in the Semifinals with a 2.8-second run.
