Cindy Smith Takes Average Lead in Reno After Fastest Run of the Rodeo in Round 2

Smith’s 17.18 is the best through five perfs in Reno

Cindy Smith took a commanding position in the barrel racing at the Reno Rodeo after a 17.18-second run in Performance 4.

“I just try to get her close, because she runs really hard, she makes me ride harder than I’d like to,” Smith said of her horse.

Her time was one-hundredth of a second faster than Toria Madsen’s Round 2 time to give Smith the lead in both the Go-Round and the Average, where she has an edge of two-hundredths of a second over Sara Winkelman.

Smith, Madsen and Winkelman will all compete in the Finals on Saturday with the best on three taking home the title. You can watch it on The Cowboy Channel and Cowboy Channel+.
