Wenda Johnson is currently sitting No. 11 in the World Standings with just over $87,000 in total earnings and has further secured her spot with back-to-back wins in Lawton and Lovington to claim the Circle Y WPRA Athlete of the Week Title.
Johnson turned in her winning run of 16.84 seconds in Performance 3 of the Lawton Rangers Rodeo to pull a check for $4,083. Ilyssa Riley and Summer Kosel, fellow Top 15 cowgirls, were also found alongside Johnson on the leader board in Lawton, OK.
After claiming a victory in Oklahoma, Johnson continued her winning streak in Lovington, New Mexico at the Lea County PRCA Rodeo, clocking in at 17.34 seconds to take home $6,236 in earnings, bringing her total money over the weekend to over $10,300. It was her third PRCA Playoff Series win of the season.
As the summer run enters its final six weeks, Johnson currently occupies a spot in the Top 15, positioning herself for a potential fourth qualification to the National Finals Rodeo.
