Clayton Sellars has been a dominant force missing from Las Vegas for the past two years but the Florida native has locked in his return. He is the No. 5 ranked bull rider in the World after a huge season finish at the Governor’s Cup.
“Well, I mean, it’s the bull riding. Stay on, right? The game never changes. I’ve got to say, hats off to Hayes Weight, the guy kicked ass all week long,” Sellars said.
Sellars rode three out of four bulls and the one that mattered most was his 88-point ride on Burch Rodeo’s Cookies and Cream in the Final Four to beat Weight’s 86.5.
“It’s what rodeo is all about. You get here, high money, high emotions, high stakes, everyone’s scared, nervous and right now it’s great. The season is over for me and there’s alot of happy guys here, there’s some that are sad but I just want to thank Sioux Falls for having us,” he said.
With multiple scores in the 90’s during the Governor’s Cup, the competiton in the bull riding at the Governor’s Cup was the top tier and Sellars is your Champion. He will return to Las Vegas for the first time since 2021 gunning for gold.
