Cole Patterson is in Mulvane, Kansas for the National Finals Steer Roping. He is headed in in the No. 1 position after setting a record for regular season earnings with more than $104,000 and now he is competing for the first Gold Buckle of the year.
“It’s exciting every year you get back here… you just can’t help but look forward to getting over here to Mulvane and getting in front of all these fans. You know, it’s something we don’t get to do as steer ropers everyday so it’s exciting to look forward to every year,” Patterson said.
This is Patterson’s third trip to the NFSR and it is also the third time he will be competing with his father. Patterson’s father is four-time World Champion Rocky Patterson, who is going into his 27th NFSR ranked No. 8 in the world.
Patterson also has the 2021 Nutrena Steer Roping Horse of the Year, Tigger. The team will be competing November 12 and 13 at 8:00 PM ET and the only place you can watch is on The Cowboy Channel + App.
