Coleman Proctor Makes Another NFR, Looks for Another Big Finish Alongside Logan Medlin

Coleman Proctor has now made eight NFRs, his first coming back in 2014 and in 2023, he has a chance to make it three Top 10 finishes in a row for the first time in his career.

He as come close before when he finished No. 4 in 2014 and No. 5 in 2015 before a No. 15 finish broke the streak in 2016. Overall, he has finished in the Top 10 six of the previous seven years he has made it to Vegas.

This year, he enters No. 6 in the world with $133,487 and is only about $27,000 off Kaleb Driggers’ lead in the Team Roping Heading World Standings.

BIGGEST PAYDAYS

Cinch Playoffs Governor’s Cup (South Dakota), $35,000

Proctor vaulted from No. 10 to No. 6 in the final weekend of the regular season when he won two rounds at the $1 million Cinch Playoffs Governor’s Cup. The second of those tworound wins was the Finals, where he and partner Logan Medlin picked the right time to make their fastest run of the year with a 3.4 to win $25,000.

Calgary Stampede Team Roping, $13,518

The team ropers have finally got their due up north over the last few seasons and in this year’s Calgary Stampede Team Roping, Proctor/Medlin were a timely 6.6 seconds to win the Finals. They were also 4.2 in the Semis.

FASTEST RUNS

San Angelo Rodeo (Texas), 3.7 Seconds

Proctor/Medlin’s most profitable run of the Texas Swing was a Round 2 winner in San Angelo that paid just over $4,700. It is just the second time in Proctor’s career he has had multiple runs of 3.7 Seconds or Faster.

NOTABLE WINS

Fallon County Fair and Rodeo (Montana), 4.6 Seconds

On Aug. 19, Proctor/Medlin won more than $4,500 after winning a tight team roping that saw 11 teams finish between 4.6 and 5.2 seconds.

Golden Spike Rodeo (Utah), 4.0 Seconds

A week after Fallon County, Proctor/Medlin won in similar fashion at the PRCA Playoff Series Rodeo in Tremonton, Utah. There were 15 teams that finished 4.0 and 4.4, including six that tied for second at 4.1. Proctor/Medlin were paid about $4,800 for coming out on top.
