Shad Mayfield set a regular season earnings record in 2022, but it only lasted a year as Riley Webb shattered it in 2023 en route to his first career Gold Buckle.
Mayfield, who is the only tie-down roper ever to have two regular seasons with more than $200,000 earned, came firing out of the gate in 2024 and made clear he wants his record back.
Mayfield won Fort Worth and San Antonio and amassed $100,000 before the beginning of RodeoHouston, something that had never been done prior to this year.
As it stands, Mayfield is No. 1 in the World with $107,379 compared to Webb’s $98,487 at this time in 2023.
