Cord McCoy on the Last Rodeo In the Historic Jim Norick Arena and the Upcoming Bullnanza

Cord McCoy was a part of the final chapter for Jim Norick Arena.

The Jim Norick Arena is in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and was the home of the National Finals Rodeo before it moved to Las Vegas. For 55 years, people have entered that arena for world reknowned equestrian events, basketball tournaments, concerts and more. The arena as we know it held it’s final PRCA event in January before it’s chapter closes and the next one begins.

“You see it in the video there, you sneak down the tunnel at the Jim Norick arena and see the bucking chutes where Freckles Brown got on Tornado and all the other Gold Buckles that have been given away in this location. To be a small part of the last chapter, the last pro rodeo happening in this arena was pretty cool, especially when it came down to Saturday morning knowing that you’re saddling your horse to come in here the last time. And even around out production meeting, I think everybody realized that this is it, to soak it in,” McCoy said.

The production team enjoyed it the whole way through and the fans did as well as they stayed seated until the very last ride was done.

While next year’s PRCA rodeo will take place in the new facility, the next stop for McCoy is Bullnanza on Feb. 7-8 in Guthrie, Oklahoma.
