Cory Solomon after his third Calgary Stampede tie-down roping title

Cory Solomon won The Calgary Stampede for the third time and was the star of the tie-down roping on Sunday.

In the Round of 10, he was 6.6 seconds and he followed that up by winning the Showdown with a time of 7.3 seconds.

“I’m just thankful to be in this position, thankful for The Calgary Stampede and all of these great ropers and thankful to be back,” Solomon said. “This is my favorite place to go rope calves.”

Solomon finished third in Pool A with $9,750 and in pool competition, he had two times faster than 7.5 seconds.
