Dakota Eldridge can finally add San Angelo Rodeo Champion to his long list of accolades. After placing seventh and sixth in the first two rounds, Eldridge came out in the Final Round and threw one down in 3.5 seconds to be 11.1 on three head and cinch the title.
“It felt like I came down here and did my job, first time to win San Angelo and it kind of bails me out of a mediocre winter so I’ll have some money after this,” Eldridge said.
Eldridge rode fellow steer wrestler Clayton Hass’ horse, Benz, and he attributed that to part of his win. He says that was a huge factor and he can’t thank Hass enough.
This win moved Eldridge from No. 21 in the PRCA World Standings to No. 6, it was a big win for the eight-time National Finals Rodeo bulldogger.
