Daren Peterson Talks Upcoming Bob Feist Invitational and Keeping Traditions While Keeping Up with Times

Daren Peterson talks all things BFI Week on Western Sports Round-Up.

The legendary event that is the Bob Feist Invitational returns to the Lazy E Arena but, this year, it brought some changes.

“This is an exciting time. There’s a lot of fun stuff going on. We’ve been busy processing the pre-entries. In the next coupld of days we release the draw for The Feist, which is always a big deal, on social media and everything’s been good. It’s been fun but it’s been hectic,” Co-Owner Daren Peterson said.

Among the changes that you will see is new dates for the All-Girl Roping. The All-Girl Team Roping and All-Girl Breakaway Roping will kickstart the action for BFI Week followed by the Hooey Junior Championship.

“I don’t think we’d be saying anything that’s out of line if we don’t expect to get to the $5 million mark this year in payout and that’s just the money. That doesn’t include the awards,” he said.

The 48th BFI is staying true to the history and traditions that made the great event what it is. The first ropers will back into the box on March 26.
